Why would the TPTB say anything with regards to John. I wouldn't. The internet bunch is the best publicity. And besides they can't afford any bad publicity by prematurely announcing that they have fired John. Days needed a buzz and John was there best shot. And why not, killing Maggie or Roman wouldn't cut it. If John shows up for November sweeps or later then Days' credibility is in the toliet for good. No need to send in any Emmy reels because nobody is going to ever take Days serious again. The Emmys are not about tricks. We the fans are tired of tricks and fake deaths. I miss and like Drake/John just as much as anybody else but I do not want to see Days become the laughing stock again over at the Envelope. The Duke
I THINK IT IS JUST A PLOT,IT WASN'T A TRICK,I THINK IT WAS A PLOT JUST BETWEEN J&M AND THATS IT,IT IS SO SAD THAT THEY LET DRAKE GO TO HELP THE RATINGS,BUT THEY(NBC OR KEN C. OR SHEFFER) DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO THE TON'S OF FAN'S AND VIEWER'S OF DAY'S,DRAKE AND DEE NEEDS A VERY STRONG STORYLINES AND LINES(NOT DUMB ONE'S),DRAKE NEEDS TO BE ON DAYS WITH DEE,WE NEED TO GET HIM BACK SOON,TO SAVE THE SHOW,ALL OVER THE INTERNET PEOPLE ARE SAING THEY WILL NOT WATCH DAY'S ANYMORE,BECAUSE OF LETTING DRAKE AND NO J&M ANYMORE. PLEASE BRING HIM BACK DAY'S!!!!
I've been watching Days since I was 4 years old (1966) I've hung in there with the great story lines and the bad ones too. Sometimes I wonder why I bother when I watch the writers treat the viewer like we're a bunch of ignorant people. When Bo walked out of John's hospital room and there just happened to be a cart with drugs and a hyperdermic needle sitting there unlocked and unattended, I thought I would throw something through the tv!
On another note. I've heard that days is going to only run through 2009, maybe Drake decided that he'd get out before the ship sank?
Also, if Lucas is a Dimera...then maybe Sammy wouldn't have to marry EJ because the "vendetta" would be over because a Brady married a Dimera. One last thought. If John was the "love child" of Colleen and Santo, that would make him a Dimera, but that would also make him a Brady AND his Daughter Belle a Brady...who would be marrying Sean (who is a Brady)...creepy. Just my thoughts.
Sometimes I wonder why (after over 20 years) I continue to watch this show. Then, episodes like John's funeral (and the following day) remind me.
Those two episodes reminded me of the old Days - great acting and great writing (a rarity on Days for the last several years).
The slow motion carrying of the casket down the aisle gave me chills, as did Marlena's breakdown alone in the bedroom.
If John's death (and I'm still not convinced he's dead) has done anything it's to FINALLY push Deidre Hall back to the forefront where she deserves to be. Nothing against Alison Sweeney, but she is no Deidre Hall and cannot carry this show no matter how much the powers that be try to shove her down our throats.
